On 30 September 2026 Google DeepMind announced Gemini 4 Argon for long, hard workflows: software engineering, legal and finance work, and cyber defense. First access is the Fairwind program for trusted defenders, not the public Gemini app.
The company says it is in the U.S. government’s voluntary pre-release process. Broader access is promised later, starting with paid API customers and Google AI Ultra. Listed intro price: $2 / $10 per million input and output tokens; later $4 / $20. Cached input is 95% off.
A price without a public model is a reservation, not a review. Ask who can use it today, and what the guardrails are said to block.
